Went to the vet to change Meekos bandage... have to go back tomorrow his wound is not healing and now has to go back tomorrow because the stiches are not staying in and started smelling bad... has do a treatment to heal as open wound and get him more med that will calm him down so hopefully it will scab over while he is calm... it will take almost 5 weeks to heal at this rate his scond meds wil cost another $60 on top of what was already paid... and this morning we had to take him out into the hallway while a k9 unit inspected our apartment and when we did there was a HUGE shard of glass on the hallway floor.... Incase anyone is confusd what happened let me explain...

Saturday April 16th, around 4:30-5pm my fiance took our dog and her niece into the backyard so she could blow bubbles. After about 10 minutes she got cold so we decided to go back inside. As soon as they stepped inside the building her and her friend Robin noticed blood on the cement which then made them curious to find out what it was from. They then noticed it was coming from the dog's foot. My fiance, Ashley didn't think it was a big deal as she has dealt with animals getting cut before and just going home and bandaging them up. It continued to bleed all the way to our apartment on the 3rd floor. Once upstairs we tried to clean it up with wet facecloth, however the blood wouldn't stop. We were able to see that the cut was a laceration on his paw pad and not just a poke like originally thought. So while he was laying on Ashley's lap we decided to call an emergency vet who took our dog in as soon as we could get the money to go in. Since we had no money until Tuesday we ended up having to borrow money from someone to pay for the vet. While he was still bleeding we took the facecloth and applied as much pressure as possible without hurting and wrapped his foot with the facecloth and then a sock so he would not bleed inside the cab we had to take to get him to vet. Once we arrived we had to wait in the lobby for a little while and he continued to bleed on the floor of the veterinary office (4 Paws Vet) to the point they had to come and but a bandage on him so he wouldn't bleed more. He then was inside the vet for surgery by 5:30-5:45pm. We then went home to wait for their call saying that we could take him home. We received this phone call at 10pm that we could come get him in an hour and when we did we were told, Meeko had to have 3-5 stitches in his paw pad, we would have to come in every 2-3 days to change his bandage, and we of course would need to watch him, and he was given medication, 1 for 10 days and another for 14.

Due to this incident my dog can no longer go outside other than to quickly pee, he is not allowed to play or pretty much do anything he likes to do right now. As well our dog is a very hyperactive dog with lots of energy which normally is a problem to get out. He already has 1 stitch fallen out and we cant make him any less hyper to keep them in. The paw pad is one of the hardest places to heal. This would normally not bother us however all of this could have been prevented had the glass in the yard been cleaned up before we ever went outside. As well it very well could have been Ashley's niece who fell instead of the dog. The office was informed the following business day Monday, April 18th about the incident and the glass. They advised us they were sorry and that they would clean up the glass, so i have been checking back to see if it has been done and while I had not seen anyone clean it up... I have seen some shards picked up only today, Wed April 20th.

I wish so badly I had a tablet or could draw decent enough to do commissions now because I now have a vet bill of over 500 and increasing which is using all the money i left to move for work making everything really difficult right now which also really sucks!
